We need you to help us make the difference in the fight to promote good sexual health and challenge stigma and prejudice. Volunteering can be a great way to meet new friends, learn new skills, and to know that you are making the difference.
.
Every volunteer who comes to HEALTH Awareness will have their own assignment or in some cases assignments; this is based on what you would like to do for the organisation. Some people volunteer for several years, others are only with us for a short time, for example maybe just for one event. The assignment gives you the chance to shape what you would like to do, around the skills that you have and the time you can spare.
At the moment we are particularly looking for volunteers to help with our training program - delivering training to dispel myths and challenge stigma around HIV and sexual health
Every volunteer who comes to HEALTH Awareness receives initial training, and the opportunity to attend internal and external courses relevant to their role. Volunteers receive support from our staff team including the opportunity for regular meetings to review their role, and identify new areas of work they wish to be involved in. All volunteers at HEALTH Awareness are reimbursed their volunteer expenses in the same way as the staff, as we believe that no one should be out of pocket as a result of volunteering, and that no one should be unable to volunteer due to cost.
For further information about volunteering or to request an application pack please contact Grant Chambers, the Volunteer Co-ordinator, on 01223 508805 or via email.
